English Classes for Native Speaker Children

English for Native Speaker Children

We provide first rate English classes and special-interest courses for native English learners (ENL) children as well as outstanding workshops, family events, study trips and Summer camps in English in Budapest. ENL students are children who speak English at home or who have attended an English-medium school for two years or more.

All our teachers are native speaker teacher practitioners with a passion for educating children and developing their creativity and critical thinking skills.

All our courses are based on age and language level so children are always recommended courses in which they are with their peers.

Our ENL Courses

Kindergarten Courses for ages 5-6

Our kindergarten English classes, Mini-English, are fun, interactive sessions for children aged 5-6. Through songs, stories, games, activities, movement and craft they will gain a love of learning English and an introduction to age-appropriate academic vocabulary, phonics and spoken expression.

Literacy Classes for ages 6-8 and 8-10

Our cross curricular approach enables the children to develop their academic English through highly-engaging topics, UK teaching materials and collaborative learning activities. We also use scripts, poems and stories to engage children’s imaginative responses and build reading and fluency.

Literacy Classes for ages 10-12, 12-14, 14+

Our cross curricular approach enables the children to develop their academic English through highly-engaging topics, UK teaching materials and collaborative learning activities. We also use plays, poems and set novella to engage children’s imaginative and analytical responses.

Special-Interest Courses for ages 6-13

For children who wish to develop their English whilst learning about the exciting world of Science or Design. The courses have an input element to build academic vocabulary and knowledge, and a hands-on component, using activities and experiments or creating their own artwork.

Testimonials from Afterschooler Parents

Andrew, Max’s dad

Max enjoys the [Rock and Roll, Baby!] classes, where there is much singing, movement, instrument playing (bashing!) and games.  There is also half an hour before hand of tea/biscuits and English chat.  It’s a great set up.  I would recommend to anyone.

David, Ali’s dad

“Our son has grown hugely in confidence in speaking English and has greatly expanded his vocabulary from his classes at BAS over the past 2 years. He has benefitted from exposure to a stimulating range of subjects and new ideas – and has made good friends. It has been great!”

Jonathan, Cosimo’s dad

The Budapest Afterschool has been one of the most fantastic decisions we’ve made for our child. He is growing up with three languages which has been very difficult on him. Prior to joining the school he was barely speaking at all, saying at most just a few words. He was also extremely shy any time someone tried to speak to him. After just the first few months of attending, our son began to turn in to a chatter box and started to actively respond and speak to people. His English speaking continues to strengthen and the school has now become his favourite part of the week.

Stella, Cosimo’s mum

The staff employs multiple ways of engaging with the children, teaching them through interaction and via various activities that has them excited before, during and after the classes. They also host multiple events which provide opportunities for both networking and continuing exposure to the language outside of a classroom setting for the kids. And lest I forget to mention it is staffed by some of the loveliest people we’ve had the privilege of getting to know since we moved here!

Kriszta, Bori’s mum

This school is a cool opportunity to acquire a foreign language to a native-like level, while the students studying here receive up-to-date and fascinating knowledge about the world.
