Last-Minute Prep Workshop for English School Leaving Exam, Written Part
Now more than ever, the written part of the “emelt szintű érettségi” in English, the Hungarian school leaving exam, is one of the most important tasks a high schooler has to face. We feel that, due to this year’s unexpected school closures, students may miss the exam tips and exam practice to take their exam with confidence. Therefore, we decided to host this online wokshop to help them succeed. Here the students will find the answers to the following questions:
- How do I structure my writing as English native speakers would?
- How do I present and justify my opinion?
- How do I use authentic and idiomatic expressions?
- What is the hidden agenda of the task? What is the examiner looking for?
This two-hour workshop will introduce and practise criteria for examination success not commonly covered in Hungarian schools. The workshop will be led by Afterschool Director, Ms Melanie Sefton, who has several years’ experience preparing students for Cambridge International Examinations, B2 examinations and the International Baccalauriat.
